L'ASCENSION

The L’Ascension Landfill is located in the Province of Quebec, Canada.  The landfill was established on a greenfield site with a total landfill area of 216,918 cubic meters and has accumulated 1 million metric tons of waste.  L’Ascension is located approximately 250 km North of Quebec City, in a region called Lac Saint-Jean. 

The SmartSoil Gas Production System has the capability to produce electricity from a very small and “closed” landfill in extreme weather conditions. Varying weather conditions during the winter reach -5.4°F and as high as 75°F during summer.
