LACHUTE

The Lachute landfill is located 45 minutes North West of Montreal. Since its opening in 1976, the landfill has accumulated over five million metric tons of waste and has a total capacity of 12 million metric tons. Its annual waste recharge is currently 500,000 metric tons per year. This project is also SmartSoil’s Biogas Production System technological showcase. The main attraction of this technological showcase lies in its technical and environmental performances, which exceed those of conventional vertical wells systems.
